Disgraced comedian Roseanne Barr has now blamed her disgustingly racist tweet comparing former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape, on the influence of sleeping pills. Emerging a day after her show was cancelled, Barr claimed the following (we can’t embed her tweets given she has blocked us on the social media platform):
guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. ty

Barr continued her argument that sleeping pills cause vicious racism by citing comedian Joe Rogan:
I think Joe Rogan is right about ambien. Not giving excuses for what I did(tweeted) but I’ve done weird stuff while on ambien-cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc.
After being called on this hilariously idiotic excuse, Barr then astonishingly complained about being bullied online:
no, i didnt i blamed myself. stop lying. Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. I BLAME MYSELF OK? it’s just an explanation not an excuse, Ok, bully?
There isn’t much need to join in with the very public savaging of Roseanne’s career and character given it is essentially over, and I don’t actually take any pleasure in ridiculing or shaming her. But Barr, an avowed Trump supporter, has been a vicious racist and a conspiracy theorist for many years now, and it is high time she reaped the consequences of it.
As Vox reported, “Over the years, her (Barr’s) language and ideas have weaved through all kinds of dark and bizarre territory. It’s not exactly consistent, either; it swings across the political spectrum, unified only by its extremity.”
“She promoted Pizzagate. She believes 9/11 was an inside job. She flags vaccine conspiracy theories. She called Israel a “Nazi state” in 2009 and promoted a Holocaust-denying musician in 2013. Then she turned around and became a massive supporter of Israel (and a rabid opponent of the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement).”
Barr has also tweeted out bizarre attacks on “Islamic Rape Pedo Culture” (whatever that is):
And accused other black women of having “ape” like characteristics:
Thankfully, Roseanne is now being made to understand that this type of disgusting behavior is not acceptable. In truth, ABC should have never have brought her show back in the first place — they knew about her history and understood what they were getting themselves into. The abrupt canceling and extreme humiliation Roseanne is going through cannot be much fun, especially for the other actors and staff on the show. But it is just deserts for the disgraceful things Roseanne has said over the years and and the racist bullying of a woman whose looks and ethnicity were insulted because she worked for a black president.
Roseanne Barr is free to continue being a racist idiot and promote her conspiratorial bullshit, but at long last her career as a comedian and public media figure is over. The longer she remains on twitter blaming ambien for her racism and whinging about being bullied, the faster we’ll see the back of her. She’s going on Joe Rogan’s podcast this Friday where she’ll no doubt keep digging, and then that’ll be the end of it. And good riddance.
