Anthony Scaramucci is Literally The Dumbest Person on Earth

America’s shortest lived press secretary Anthony Scaramucci is back in the public eye, claiming he wasn’t aware that calling a journalist to rant at him would result in his comments being published.

Let’s repeat that: Anthony Scaramucci, whose job it was to handle journalists and shape the media’s perception of the White House, didn’t understand that a journalist he called would report on what he said.  Here he was on Twitter late last night, attacking The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, who reported on Scaramucci’s truly insane call where he claimed Reince Preibus was a “paranoid schizophrenic” and Steve Bannon “sucked his own cock”:

Scaramucci is referring to Linda Tripp secretly recording conversations she had with Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern who had sexual relations with President Clinton. There are many jokes to be made about this (if Lizza is Tripp, then who is Scaramucci in the analogy?), but the most glaring aspect of Scaramucci’s latest outburst is his truly mind blowing lack of awareness.

Scaramucci also tweeted this, apparently completely unaware that it was perfectly legal for Lizza to record the phone call based on the location of both parties on the call (Washington DC and New York):

One would think that the Trump administration would have vetted for this type of brazen stupidity, but then this is the Trump administration we are talking about — a government that has put climate change denier Rick Perry in charge of the Department of Energy, and gave Info Wars nutjob Alex Jones a press pass to the White House.

Could anyone imagine Hillary Clinton hiring someone as woefully incompetent as Anthony Scaramucci? Would President Obama have hired a press secretary who thought it appropriate to call up a notable journalist to rant about their enemies within their own administration and not think it would be published? The answer of course, is no. No administration in the history of the country would be that shamelessly stupid.
