The Internet’s Response To Beck Beating Beyoncé at the Grammys Is Pretty Much Just What You’d Expect

If you’re wondering what caused that violent rip in the fabric of reality that happened right around 11pm East Coast time on Sunday, it of course has to do with Beyoncé — as all things do these days. Beck’s excellent Morning Phase won Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammy awards and a billion people who up until that moment hadn’t given a single fuck about most of what the Grammys have to say suddenly created a singularity of pure, white-hot outrage. Because as you know, the fact that Beck won a meaningless award from an organization that’s proven over and over again that it’s hopelessly lost — Jesus Christ, Tenacious D won an award for Best Metal Performance earlier in the night — means that every single copy of the Beyoncé record that was downloaded in 2014 will instantly evaporate into thin air.

Anyway, as you might expect, right now Twitter is being lit up by angry Beyoncé fans, who, predictably, not only won’t have any of their queen being insulted but who definitely will not tolerate it from some nobody they’ve never even heard of. Behold the carnage:

Admittedly, however, some people are enjoying every second of the upset.

Meanwhile, as very few are factoring him into this equation, poor Sam Smith is off in a corner crying because nobody loves him. Make sure to pick up his new album, I’m Off in a Corner Crying Because Nobody Loves Me, which drops in a couple of weeks.

Also, if you’re looking for something to blame for Beck’s shocking ability to overthrow the cultural juggernaut that is Beyoncé, might I point you in the direction of Scientology?
