Republican Tom Cotton has defeated Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) with 56 percent of the vote. This is one of the big pickups for the GOP in the closely watched race to control the U.S. Senate.
Elsewhere, Charlie Crist’s fortunes rest with voters in Southern Florida where he could pick up enough late votes to defeat controversial incumbent Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL).
Meanwhile, Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) looks strong in North Carolina’s Senate race.
Too close to call in Kansas, where independent candidate Greg Orman trails incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) by less than 4,000 votes. Should Orman win, he’s promised to caucus with the majority party.
