Bob Saget’s career has always been one big subversive practical joke. On the one hand he made a mint dishing out family friendly pabulum like Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, while on the other his standup has always contained some of the filthiest, most gleefully offensive material done by any comic working. What’s more, Saget delights in this paradox and continues to milk it for all it’s worth.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if the two sides of Saget’s career and personality were to meet, well, fellow comic Paul F. Tompkins is giving us a look. As part of his internet series, Speakeasy, he sat down with Saget and gave him the chance to narrate some home videos his way. The results are exactly what you’d expect: obscene, scatalogical, and funny as hell.
Pay special attention to one of the best uses of “fuck you” just about ever.
Chez Pazienza was the beating heart of The Daily Banter, sadly passing away on February 25, 2017. His voice remains ever present at the Banter, and his influence as powerful as ever.
