Political commentator/evil Sith Lord Charles Krauthammer is very good at being wrong. He’s so good at being wrong that Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier has him on as a nightly panelist to help promote the network’s alternate view of reality.
Krauthammer was wrong about Clinton’s Kosovo intervention turning into a “quagmire,” wrong about Saddam having Weapons of Mass Destruction, wrong about how long the conflict would last (he famously called it a ‘Three Week War’), wrong about Mitt Romney winning the presidency, wrong about global warming, wrong about, well, you get the idea.
So when Charles Krauthammer talks about Obamacare, you can pretty safely say that he’s going to be wrong without doing too much fact checking. Here he was on Fox earlier this week dropping some knowledge on America’s new health care policy:
This sort of insane hybrid, which is, essentially, the federal government taking over and directing and making tens of thousands of pages of regulations for the insurers, is a system that doesn’t work. And everybody can see it…They [the Democrats] don’t want targeted solutions. They want to take stuff over. That’s what Obama did.
Firstly, when a government regulates an industry, it is not ‘taking over’ that industry. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ensures private companies create food and drugs fit for human consumption. It is not taking over Monsanto or GlaxoSmithKline. Secondly, the system ‘that doesn’t work’ does actually work. Just ask Mitt Romney who enacted almost the exact same plan in Massachusetts, and the 5 million people who have signed up to health care plans through federal and state market places.
To Krauthammer, the uninsured have been exploited by Obama in order to fulfill his socialistic agenda. He said:
They have changed the system entirely, gratuitously, using the uninsured as the excuse of doing it. That, I think, is the fundamental deception underlying it all.
How awful of Barack! It’s like those horrible anti-cancer charities that gratuitously use cancer patients in order to raise money to help cure cancer…
