Glenn Beck Comment Porn: Redskins, Confederates and Nazis Edition

Hello! Bob here, filling in for Ben once again. This week’s Glenn Beck Comment Porn comes to us from an article in Beck’s The Blaze where writer “Becket Adams” posted an article about a Tom Stiglich cartoon from The New York Daily News. It’s a perfect storm for the Beck commenters: an image of a Nazi flag, the Confederate battle flag and the Washington Redskins’ logo. The caption? “Archaic Symbols of Pride and Heritage.”

A cartoon like this is chum for the Glenn Beck sharks. Of course the racist comments were plentiful.

Here’s “The Monk” who rants about the history of racial identity and terminology. Of course. Because “African American” is a real struggle to say. Just burns “The Monk’s” britches.

And this one from “SpankDaMonkey”…

Get it? Reneg?

Naturally, the inclusion of the Nazi flag prompted an obligatory anti-Semitic screed from “Iheartisrael.”

Meanwhile, “scientiam” does seem to understand why some people find “Redskins” offensive.

Next, we have some good old fashioned Confederate Lost Cause mythology from “thegreatcarnac.”

And…

Did you see that? “Black confederates held black slaves with equal rights as white confederates.” Yeah okay. That’s — “ewoodard” just made that up.

Someone called “Metallicat” compared Lincoln to Hitler.

And not to be outdone, “5ive3hirty” compared Obama to Hitler and Charles Manson.

Ugh. Enough. I’m going on vacation. Have a great weekend.
