The Japanese have given much to the world – ninjas, sushi, and Nintendo. But let’s be honest, the island nation can be a little weird. Their penchant for bizarre porn, renting friends, and persistent groping on the subway puts them up there with the strangest countries in the world (although it’s certainly not as strange as Finland – a nation where taking a sauna with your cat is pretty normal).
So leave it to the Japanese to come up with what is probably the scariest prank of all time: making someone believe they are being chased by a Velociraptor.
The poor chap in the video below is strolling along with a cup of coffee when an extraordinarily realistic looking dinosaur turns around the corner and goes after him. Yes, it’s hilarious, but bloody hell, you can’t help but feel sorry for the victim. He looks genuinely terrified and doesn’t pause to figure out whether it’s real or not. It’s akin to the whole ‘fin in the water’ gag people used to do after Jaws came out in the 1970’s – but probably a lot scarier.
