George Zimmerman Goes Out Shopping for Tactical Shot Gun

After killing Trayvon Martin and getting away with it, George Zimmerman has been doing what he does best – buying high powered weaponry to defend himself from unruly black teenagers wielding cans of iced tea and bags of skittles. Reports TMZ:

George Zimmerman was on the hunt today — for a shotgun … TMZ has learned.

Zimmerman went to Kel-Tec in Cocoa, Florida … a gun manufacturing company.  We’re told he was asking questions about the legality of buying a shotgun — specifically, the Kel-Tec KSG.

The gun in question is a tactical shotgun, often used for home defense.  It holds 12 rounds of 12 gauge shells…..

We’re told the owner’s son took Zimmerman on a tour of the grounds, including the area where the firearms are assembled.

Zimmerman has found himself in a rather fortunate position after the highly publicized court case. By virtue of not being black, he is now a major celebrity in racist white circles, particularly those with a penchant for lethal weapons. As you can see from TMZ’s photo, white gun nuts around the country are extremely eager to be associated with Zimmerman. And from the look on the former neighborhood watchman’s face, he’s loving every second of it.

Zimmerman took in over $500,000 in donations from around the country while on trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin, a considerable portion of it from pro gun groups that also sent money to go towards “purchasing a new firearm for [Zimmerman] including a holster, flashlight, and any other gear he wants.”

Interestingly, Marissa Alexander, an African American woman who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing a warning shot at her abusive husband, collected a measley $3293 on her ‘WePay’ page. While groups like the Buckeye Firearms Foundation dedicated weeks of coverage and financial support for Zimmermans, there is not a single sentence on their site on Alexander’s case, or any mention of purchasing her a new gun to replace the one she used to defend herself.

Any guesses as to why not?
