Mos Def Goes Through Traumatic Guantanamo Force-Feeding Procedure

Yasiin Bey, formerly known as rapper and actor Mos Def, voluntarily underwent the standard force feeding procedure at Gitmo for detainees on hunger strike. The video was made to draw attention to the treatment of Guantanamo Bay prisoners.

According to Gawker:

The video was created by Reprieve, an advocacy group that assists “prisoners facing the death penalty, and prisoners held beyond the rule of law in the ‘war on terror.’” The force-feeding was performed according to a document leaked to Al Jazeera that outlines standard operating procedure for detainees on a hunger strike.

It’s impossible to watch this an not be absolutely horrified by what happens to those protesting their completely unjustified imprisonment on a daily basis.

Warning: The footage below is very disturbing.
