Senator McCain in 2011:
This is another classic example of the United State’s contradictory and hypocritical stance on foreign leaders. In 2009, Gaddafi was an ‘interesting man’ apparently worthy of obtaining American military hardware as an ‘important ally’ in the War on Terror. In 2011 however, Gaddafi had ‘American blood on his hands’ and should have been hauled in front of the Hague to face war crimes charges.
I am consistently amazed at politicians like John McCain and their ability to not bat an eyelid when completely reversing a previously held position. It truly is a skill and a testament to unadulterated shamelessness at the highest level.
