The big lie in modern politics is that tax cuts for the rich creates jobs. This lie has been repeated over and over again for the past 30 years and has led to one of the most unequal societies in history. Republicans (and many Democrats) cynically describe tax cutting legislation as ‘job creation’ bills all the while the beneficiaries of those cuts ship more and more jobs abroad.
Big corporations are able to pay virtually no income tax on their earnings through a variety of loop holes, earning their money in America while outsourcing much of the labor and contributing virtually nothing to society. This corrupt and deeply damaging culture that has permeated modern politics is sucking wealth upwards at an unprecedented rate ensuring a permanent economic class structure that cannot be dented.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, politicians in Washington decide to come up with new ways of allowing the mega rich to hold on to more of their money while the nation’s infrastructure crumbles:
