However, Lieberman became an ardent supporter of George Bush’s wars in the Middle East, did his utmost to destabilize peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, tried to get the US to invade Iran, supported John McCain against Barack Obama in 2008, and then did his best to derail meaningful reform of the health care system.
