As an open minded sort of chap, I’d like to think of myself as fairly reasonable and receptive to other people’s ideas. I have many conservative friends and often banter with them civilly about topics of the day. But I have to draw the line with the majority of Republicans I’ve met in the US (who I don’t consider ‘conservative’ in the traditional sense), because I’ve found them to be stark raving mad.
On occasion, I’ve blamed myself for being a closed minded liberal unable to listen to other people’s arguments. But then I read the Daily Kos poll that confirmed my suspicions.
It turns out, self identified Republicans are indeed, completely nuts.
Here’s a summary:
The majority of Republicans believe Barack Obama should be impeached.
The majority of Republicans believe Barack Obama is a socialist.
36% of Republicans believe Barack Obama is not a US citizen and 22% are unsure.
The majority of Republicans either don’t know, or believe Barack Obama wants ‘the terrorists to win’ against the United States.
The majority of Republicans (76%) either don’t know, or believe ACORN stole the 2008 election.
The majority of Republicans believe Sarah Palin is more qualified to be President than Barack Obama.
The majority of Republicans either don’t know, or believe that Obama is a racist who doesn’t like white people.
