Just take a look at this graph from the Atlantic showing the decline in journalism jobs in comparison to manufacturing jobs in the U.S:
While blue collar workers join unions to protect their jobs, college educated writers seem to be idly standing by as their profession is flushed down the toilet by the collapsing news industry. Why is this? Michael Moore believes it is the relentless quest for profit by corporate bosses that has ruined the industry in the U.S, and the failure of journalists to effectively stand up to them:
