Now that the majority of voters have cast their vote in the 2018 Midterms, White House officials are apparently freaking out about Trump's reaction to huge losses across the country.

While Trump has been upbeat and projected confidence, internal and external polling paints a bleak picture for Republicans. While the Democrats may lose the Senate, they are widely predicted to take the House, and this will mean a completely new political landscape for the president. Reported Politico

By evening, however, many Trump allies had assumed a crash position, anticipating bruising results that could anger the president. “I would not want to be in that room tonight,” one former White House official told POLITICO.

In conversations with allies throughout the day, Trump sounded upbeat about the midterms, people familiar with the discussions said. He was relatively subdued on Twitter, mostly posting simple endorsements of GOP candidates. It was unclear whether Trump might tweet his real-time reactions to the night’s results, or whether he would offer any public remarks to the media.

Inside the White House, where televisions were tuned into CNN’s pre-returns coverage, nervous aides worked the phones seeking on-the-ground details about voter turnout.

Given high voter turnout almost always favors the Democrats, you can bet Trump's inner circle are seriously freaking out. Trump does not take bad news well, and given the consequences of a Democratic controlled House, his reaction could be extremely explosive.

Stay tuned for more.
