The discussion about Donald Trump’s hair creeps into conversation often enough -- or depending on which way the wind blows. And the winds were strong the other day when Trump boarded Air Force One to head to Mar A Lago. This resulted in a lot of commentary on his questionable back of head baldness. It’s unusual, yes, though so are many things about our current President. What's most troubling is that his hair really seems to be hiding something very dark.
Via Twitter, Talking Points Memo’s Josh Marshall brought back to light Trump’s scalp surgery, in which he supposedly had to bring hair from the back of his head to the top. The procedure to fix Trump’s baldness on top of his head was performed back when he was still married to Ivana Trump. There is a tie in to Trump’s painful procedure and the alleged rape of Ivana.
Ivana’s sworn deposition taken from her divorce filings from Donald in 1992 reportedly said that Trump was in a lot of pain from his hair transplant procedure in 1989. He went into a fit of rage and ripped out Ivana’s hair “by the handful” before raping her.
The book, Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump by Harry Hurt III, detailed what he read in the deposition. According to Lost Tycoon, Trump yelled “Your fucking doctor has ruined me!” at Ivana because he used her plastic surgeon for the procedure. The book continues, alleging that Donald violently ripped out Ivana’s hair to inflict the pain he was feeling upon her. “Then he jams his penis inside her for the first time in more than sixteen months. Ivana is terrified .… It is a violent assault,” Hurt wrote.
Donald called the account “obviously false” and went on to say that the author of the book “is an unattractive guy who is a vindictive and jealous person.”
Ivana went on to make a statement regarding the alleged rape and said, “during one occasion in 1989, Mr. Trump and I had marital relations in which he behaved very differently toward me than he had during our marriage. As a woman I felt violated .... I referred to this as a ‘rape,’ but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense.”
Donald Trump’s special counsel, Michael Cohen, was quick to attempt to cool the potentially damaging details back when Trump was a GOP candidate. Cohen told the Daily Beast that “you can’t rape your spouse.”
There is at least one lie here, at least one very incorrect statement. You can rape your spouse -- it’s a crime if you do. It's rape.
Rape isn't a topic to discuss lightheartedly. It needs to be noted that there are 19 women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct. Somehow, Trump has remained protected, unscathed, even elected to be our 45th President despite all of it. There is clearly so much more to this story -- to all the stories about Trump. We need not look further than the man's actions and accounts about him to see the cracks, the true bald spot.
Trump has a propensity for getting uptight when anyone mentions his hair as well as his hands. It’s two of his insecurities can be easily poked. It’s fascinating how these issues are specifically male and tied to an immature locker room talk I’d imagine Trump would enjoy participating in … provided he wasn’t the subject being ridiculed. Trump certainly made sure we knew his hands weren’t small and defended the size of his penis. And when it comes to his hair, he insists that it’s real. It may be real hair up top -- taken from the back of his head -- but it also has a deeper story behind it. His hair is like a shield for the secrets, deeply rooted, that we can only hope will one day be revealed.
