The president most certainly has done more than most other administrations in history.

In the face of relentless criticism, plummeting approval numbers and the growing threat of impeachment, president Trump tweeted this earlier today:

On the face of it, Trump's statement appears ridiculous. Trump has failed spectacularly to make good on any of the promises he made during the campaign trail. From his spectacularly failed immigration ban to the catastrophically botched health care bill, Trump has proved utterly incapable as a leader. His inability to do any of the deal making he was supposed to be so good combined with his bullying leadership style has even forced his own party to openly discussing removing him from office.

But here's where Trump was right: his administration has technically done more in just 7 months than any other administration in history -- it just depends on how you define it.

No other administration in history has created this much damage to the standing of America around the world than the Trump administration.

No other administration in history has systematically undermined the basic functioning of government more than the Trump administration has.

No other administration in history has fired so many people in such short a time as the Trump administration has.

No other administration in history has lied so often about so many issues than the Trump administration has.

No other administration in history has been suspected of colluding with a foreign government more than the Trump administration has.

No other administration in history has had approval ratings so low for so long as the Trump administration has.

No other administration in history has created a constitutional crisis in such short a time as the Trump administration has.

Viewed in this light, Donald Trump did actually tell the truth on Twitter today -- a first that should be noted in the history books. And the scary thing is, we've potentially got another three and a half years of his "achievements".
