Run Andy, run!!

The news broke yesterday that Andy Hemming resigned from the Trump administration as the White House communications team’s director of rapid response. Hemming's role in the administration was to find positive stories about Trump and distribute them as widely as possible.

Reported Politico:

A source familiar with the move told us it was a “mutually agreed upon” separation, and Hemming now plans to take a vacation (in which golf may play a big part) and then explore future opportunities....

Hemming was a senior advisor for research at the RNC in the 2016 cycle and director of research on the Trump campaign. At the White House, he worked from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. every weekday and was a regular in reporters’ inboxes, blasting out stories favorable to the administration. Hemming declined to comment. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told us that it was a “mutual decision that he could best help promote the president’s agenda on the outside. Andy is smart and very talented and we wish him all the best.”

Possible interpretations:

a) Andy genuinely enjoyed and believed in his work for the Trump administration and felt someone else would be better suited to the job. Andy is a big golf fan (as is the president!) and wants to spend more time putting with friends and family. He wishes the Trump administration success in their future endeavors and remains a firm fan of the president.

b) After a 7 month nightmare and relentlessly dire coverage of the Trump administration, Andy discovered one morning that outside of far-right hate sites and Sean Hannity, no legitimate media outlet was publishing anything vaguely positive about the president. Faced with the growing reality of no long term career prospects after selling his soul to shill for a madman, Andy decided to cut his losses and use the cash he made to play golf and pray he might work again.

Feel free to leave alternative interpretations below!
