It's a good thing Hillary Clinton has most of the Obama coalition locked up this year, because after a lot of really hard work regaining the goodwill of voters who were alienated by the intermittent but naked racism of the 2008 campaign, Claire McCaskill ripped at that scab today with some characteristically blunt talk. Asked why the Kentucky primary was so close last night, even though Hillary won the state by 35 points in 2008, McCaskill gave a response that gets major points for honesty:

Oh, no, Sen. McCaskill, I'm sure a lot of Kentuckians were "excited" about Obama, just not in the same way they're excited about Bernie.
