Kim Kardashian Removed From Photo By Sexist Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Newspaper

The newspaper said Kardashian is a "pornographic symbol."

In yet another instance of blatant misogyny committed by religious fanatics, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper has removed Kim Kardashian from a photo (above) featuring her husband Kanye West and Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, according to Al Arabiya. The publication, Kikar HaShabbat, also blurred Kardashian in another photo because, said editor Nissim Ben Haim, she's a "pornographic symbol" that contradicts the religious values of the paper, which obscured Kardashian using a restaurant receipt during the couple's trip to Israel:

An article in Kikar HaShabbat criticized the mayor for dining with Kimye at a non-kosher restaurant and referred to Kardashian simply as "West's wife."

This isn't the first time an ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper has removed a woman from a photo. In 2011, several such publications infamously cut Hillary Clinton out of a photograph of the White House situation room during the 2011 raid in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden. More recently, ultra-Orthodox papers removed the women, including Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel, featured in the original photo of the Charlie Hebdo solidarity rally in Paris.

Some ultra-Orthodox men have also caused flight delays by refusing to sit next to female passengers to whom they are not related for fear that doing so might be "too much temptation."
