Mind-Blowing Time Lapse Animation of Every Nuclear Explosion, 1945-1998
I recall seeing this several years ago, but it mysteriously vanished from the internet. Fortunately, however, it's back and making its rounds through social media. This is an absolutely mind-blowing animation that illustrates the date and location of all 2,053 nuclear explosions (atmospheric and underground) between the 1945 Trinity test through Pakistan's detonations in 1998.
A few things to watch for:
1) How insane were the late 1950s and 1960s?
2) The Pacific islands and Central Asia were totally hammered.
