GOP Sinks to All-Time Low Favorability; Congress Worse Than Cockroaches, Poop
Gallup's latest party favorability poll shows the Republican Party collapsing from a favorability of 38 percent to 28 percent over the last month, perhaps indicating that the House GOP, and specifically the tea party, is a drag on the rest of the party due to the government shutdown and debt ceiling crisis.
Comparatively, the Democratic Party is near an all-time low, but hasn't cracked through that threshold yet, losing just a few points from last month.
Meanwhile, a PPP poll has indicated that a series of unpleasant and obnoxious other things are more popular than Congress.
Those things include (and I'm not making this up):
Hemorrhoids
Witches
The IRS
Jury Duty
Cockroaches
Dog Poop
Toenail Fungus
Mother-in-Law
Potholes
Public Radio Fundraising Drives
Zombies
Fortunately for the legislative branch, it's apparently more popular than Charles Manson, Twerking, the Ebola virus and Vladimir Putin.
But clearly the take-away in all of this goes back to what I've said from the beginning: there's simply no way Congress, and especially congressional Republicans, win this fight. It won't happen.
