In America, unfortunately, the quality of the message depends on the quality of the messenger. So, yeah, Trump’s presidency serves bipartisanship insofar as it forces us to agree how pointless partisanship is. Unfortunately, decrying rancor in government is useless when one regularly refuses to rise above it.
Trump lives in his own alternate reality so it will be easy for him to avoid discussing the declining State of our Union and the negative impact he’s had on our nation. He will of course gloss over his daily violations of the constitution -- acts that would make the founding fathers turn in their graves.
It was a speech directly aimed at the best interests of middle class Americans, and was almost entirely focused on job creation and fairness in wages and income, with income inequality as a spotlighted issue.
The fact that I am writing about Trump's State of the Union address is itself a painful ordeal, and I only do so in order to convince you not to watch it.
