Oliver Willis on Andrew Breitbart's ABC News gig:
Breitbart is still free to say whatever he wants to, no matter how untrue it may be. What isn’t a right, however, is the right to an amplified platform via ABC News to make those statements. The first amendment isn’t a right to a TV show, a job as a pundit, etc.
The fact that ABC news would allow a serial liar and propagandist like Breitbart on the air is a sign of how utterly corrupt and meaningless cable news is. Breitbart is a controversial figure and therefore a ratings booster and to entertain the thought that he will provide meaningful analysis is simply ridiculous. It would be like inviting the CEO of Coca Cola to referee a Cola tasting competition.
