According to the BBC, the Iranians are offering a 'nuclear package' to the West that attempts to assuage fears that they are building nuclear weapons.
It will be interesting to see Obama's response to this, as it could determine the tone of negotiations over the coming months. The Bush Administration would have rejected the offer out of hand (it's speciality when negotiating with foreign powers), but Obama seems far more reasonable and willing to treat Iran like an equal. No one should take Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at his word, but the offer could be a serious one and worth examining.
