Average people are well aware of the devastating effects of trade agreements like NAFTA, as they suffer the consequences on a daily basis. Watching their jobs shipped abroad, they are left with declining wages and extended working hours. As money is sucked out of education and health care to pay for an un-winnable war, working people are driven further into debt in order to pay for a modest lifestyle they can simply not afford.

Almost all the the major corporate media outlets refuse to cover issues from the perspective of ordinary, working people, preferring to center their programming around the opinions of middle class, white professionals. Thankfully, independently funded news organizations like 'The Real News' broadcast serious journalism, representing the views of the majority of the population.
