The Department of Veterans Affairs scrapped an early effort to track returning war casualties because it was too expensive to implement, a senior official confirmed today before a congressional panel.

When you consider the amount of money that is thrown in to the Defense budget for projects with no feasibility, or missile defense systems that don't work, it's stunning that a system to track veterans was deemed too expensive.
