Colorado Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo, an
outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, said Tuesday he will form an
exploratory committee for a possible presidential campaign.
Nothing illustrates the disparity between the two parties more than this. On one side, you've got the aspirational, positive campaigns of John Edwards and Barack Obama, while the Republicans now have in their field a man whose hatred of immigrants is the sole reason for his campaign. In 2004, the hispanic vote went 50-50, in 2006 hispanics came back to the Democrats, and with the addition of Tom Tancredo to the Republican presidential ranks - could the number move to 100%? I sure hope so.
