Roy Moore Campaign Trots Out Latest Defense: "Many Women Who Weren't Molested"

What. The. F*ck.
By Ben Cohen ,

I genuinely believed this could never happen in a supposedly civilized country like America. If electing a sexual predator to the presidency wasn't bad enough, Republicans in Alabama are now working diligently to put an accused pedophile into the Senate, and trotting arguments out like this:

To repeat: “We need to make it clear that there’s a group of non-accusers, that have not accused the judge of any sexual misconduct or anything illegal.”

By this standard, Ted Bundy wasn't a serial killer because there were a group of women he came into contact with whom he didn't kidnap, sexually assault and murder. If this is now the standard to which Republicans hold their politicians too, the country is in for a very dramatic transformation over the next few years -- and it isn't going to be a pretty one.

The fact that Donald Trump and now the RNC have explicitly endorsed Roy Moore for the Senate is a testament to just how morally bankrupt and insane the party has become, and if they are going to resort to using arguments like this it is clear they have absolutely no respect for the intelligence of American voters. In fairness, anyone voting for candidates like Roy Moore or Donald Trump can't be that bright, but it is an insult to the rest of the country that sees this for what it is: a naked power grab by a desperate party that is rotten to the core.
