Young people have such a poor opinion of Donald Trump that they would overwhelmingly prefer a randomly selected citizen to be president.

A new Odyssey/UMass Lowell survey shows that potential millennial voters not only believe that Trump is completely unqualified to become president, they would also "prefer a giant meteor strike on the Earth, extinguishing all human life":

Trump is viewed so negatively by millennials that clear majorities of them prefer some unorthodox alternatives to a Trump presidency: 67% would prefer a citizen be chosen at random over Trump; 66% would rather President Obama serve a life term; 55% would prefer a giant meteor strike the Earth, extinguishing all human life.

Hillary Clinton was also viewed unfavorably by the participants, but as the Odyssey pointed out, retained a three to one advantage over Trump -- a larger margin than Barack Obama's victory over John McCain in 2008 (34 points) and Mitt Romney in 2012 (24 points).

Could it get any worse for Donald Trump and the Republican Party? Apparently it can.
