You knew it would happen. As soon as U.S. special forces captured Ahmed Abu Khattala, a suspected terrorist with the Ansar al-Sharia militia faction behind the attack on the U.S. diplomatic consulate in Benghazi, various characters in the conservative media lapsed into flailing conniptions over the news.
There were two concurrent reactions: 1) It's a distraction from the Benghazi scandal (???), and 2) It's conveniently timed news to help Hillary Clinton during her book tour.
Is it a case of “wag the dog” and a convenient shift from the countless evident failures of Obama or something credible? Not so sure…

3) Rush Limbaugh:
"Isn't it an amazing, timely coincidence here that they have found a militia leader of the Benghazi attack and they've arrested him?... But isn't it fortunate that President Obama get a headline using the US military when he really needs one."
“You have a former Secretary of State who is in the middle of a high profile book tour, I think this is convenient for her to shift the talking points to some of the things she has been discussing."
"I think this thing needs to be tied in a bow for certain individuals to have a clean break from an incident that have become and will continue to be a scandal and an anchor around a certain individuals neck who may want to run for president."
6) ABC News political director Rick Klein:
The other argument floating around is that it took the president "two years" to capture Khattala. Clearly the point is to suggest that Obama is weak on terrorism (while also being a blood-thirsty drone fetishist), and to imply that Obama allowed Khattala to freely hold court until the timing of his capture was politically convenient.
