They say you're never really a true political journalist until an esteemed politician threatens bodily harm upon you...

And if that's the case, Michael Scotto of NY1 was coronated last night after a post-SOTU interview with Rep. Michael Grimm, a Republican out of New York who is facing an investigation into possible campaign finance allegations.

Once Grimm figured out that Scotto was going to be asking him about these allegations and not just the SOTU, he immediately bailed on the interview. Then, after Scotto sent it back to studio, but with the cameras still rolling, Grimm confronted Scotto, threatening that he would throw Scotto off "this fucking balcony" and that he would "break him in half, like a boy."

He explained his actions later via a prepared statement that ironically read, "I verbally took the reporter to task and told him off, because I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect."

Perhaps Scotto should have threatened to throw him off a balcony before doing the interview?

More importantly though, congratulations are in order for Mr. Scotto. Welcome to the club.
