Other U.S. Presidents and Political Leaders Shaking Hands With Commies and Evildoers

We have to run through this exercise every time the far-right craps its cage about President Obama shaking hands with [insert other world leader here]. And it happened again today when — shock horror — the president shook hands with Raul Castro, brother of Cuba’s Fidel Castro.

So here we go again. Photos of other U.S. presidents and political leaders meeting with and shaking the hands of other enemies/villains/commies/dictators.

President Gerald Ford shaking hands with Soviet premier and leader of the Soviet Communist Party Leonid Brezhnev:

Here we see George W. Bush shaking hands with Uzbekistan dictator Islam Karimov who’s responsible for torturing dissidents and massacring protesters.

And well, well, well. George H. W. Bush shaking hands with socialist Hugo Chavez.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t include Richard Nixon shaking hands with China’s communist revolutionary leader Mao Zedong.

Here’s the classic hand-shaking video grab of Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam Hussein.

And who’s that white-haired senator, former presidential candidate and Meet the Press regular shaking hands with “interesting man” Muammar Gaddafi?

Here we see Ronald Reagan meeting with the Mujahideen leadership inside the Oval Office.

Now can we STFU about this? Please?!

It is mostly true, and it would have been very rude of Obama not to shake hands with another head of state at a funeral of a third party. I would have found it unbecoming had he behaved like a spoiled child and not shaken his hand. .

    However, the
photo showing Nixon shaking hands with Fidel Castro to support the
article’s premise shows enormous ignorance of history. At the time Nixon
was vice president in Eisenhower’s administration and the US still had
full diplomatic relations with Cuba so at the time he was not “shaking
hands with the enemy.” It happened April 16-17 1959 when Castro visited
    the US.
The author should have left that one out.

And these Presidents are responsible for countless deaths, so they`re just as bad. It`s just sad that Americans are so retarded, ignorant and hypocritical that they think they`re any different.
I`ll just remind you, Hitler thought he was doing the right thing too. :P

Reagan in is earlier freedom fighter days was surprised and disappointed to learn that he would not be leading the Jihad in person. He had been constructing a new sword for head chopping in stride on his trusty war horse, Recollection, for months in anticipation. An emergency meeting was called to touch base and no one in the room that day wanted to be the one to tell the Human Clipper that he’d have to sit this one out for appearances. Reagan eventually conceded that he wasn’t as young as he used to be, but could still use a bayonet to divide a man from his ass to mouth without a drop of blood(Reagan would cauterize on contact), but if anyone ever questions his age again they would be split in two like a log. The only female in the room, an unlucky translator who went by the name of Pam was later sold into slavery for translating such disappointing news to the man who would go on to become the founding father of modern day Jihadists everywhere.

Can’t stand Obama’s vision, but this latest story is much to do about nothing.

    • Truth Hammer

Can’t stand unpatriotic twits who disrespect the flag by flying it upside down.

    • 624LC .

Yea, that positive “moving forward” stuff is for the birds. Much better a vision of assholes with upside flags pretenting that they are oppressed.

    Bob,

What’s the surprise? Fox “News” is going to criticize President Obama for anything he does. If he found a cure for cancer the Fox headline would read, “Thousands of Medical Researchers thrown out of work by Obama”.

  • D_C_Wilson

    Now we can.

  • M312

Why are right wingers so hellbent on embarrassing their country on the national stage?

Darryl Issa will be conducting a hearing on this tomorrow.

….must be a slow news day at Faux Gnus, with “selfie-gate” and now “handshake-gate”.

Somebody better tell Scott Pelley……CBS looked REALLY hard to come up with a comparison, but all they found was Clinton, but, gee, no picture of that…….

Now can we STFU about this? Please?!

    Apparently we can’t.

    Wishful thinking there, Bob.

That’s Castro — Fidel, the original bugbear himself — at the state funeral of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. And yes, he was invited.

So clearly, all Canadians are commies. You now have photographic proof.

    • Victor_the_Crab

Fucking hosers! Let’s invade Canada and force them into watching NASCAR races instead of their precious hockey!

…and take all their natural resources along the way.

      • Fred Moro

You already are taking all are resources!

please leave national character out of it – plays perfectly into their hands – whose hands – the global finance oligarchy, of course – they screw everybody – hold no loyalties – all the world is fair game for exploitation – the more the underclasses fight over petty shit like national character or perceived political philosophy, the more securely overlooked they feel – an exercised Tea Party bickering with an indignant lot of Progressives makes their day
