Obama Administration Deserves Shellacking on Health Care Website, But Not From Republicans

The Obamacare website sucks, but health care act is a good thing and the Republicans are political nihilists who will burn the country down to prove a point. So let's have some perspective please.

The Obama administration is taking a serious beating on the role out of the Obamacare website. It looks like the botched site won't be ready at the new deadline set for November 30th, putting the President's signature health care reform law at even greater levels of scrutiny.

To be sure, the Obama administration deserves to take a shellacking from the public over 'Healthcare.gov' - it was atrociously built and someone should have resigned over its implementation. But the White House shouldn't have to listen to Republicans when it comes to policy implementations for several pretty obvious reasons.

Firstly, the Republican party has used up all credit when it comes to righteous political anger. Having been on the wrong side of every single issue for the past 25 years, their criticism of the Affordable Care Act website have about as much legitimacy as Kim Kardashian's take on acting.

The Republicans have blocked efforts to tackle climate change, relentlessly attacked what is left of the welfare state, supported two disastrous wars, opposed the stimulus act, stopped attempts to rebuild America's crumbling infrastructure, attacked women's rights, held the country to ransom over the debt ceiling, and most recently spent an enormous amount of political capital attacking a health care policy that their own party came up with in the first place.

Secondly, their last leader, George W. Bush, was the worst planner possibly in the history of the United States. The Obama administration screwed up a website. The Bush administration failed to plan for internecine warfare after the invasion of both Iraq and Afghanistan, failed to plan for disasters like hurricane Katrina, failed to provide competent disaster relief after Hurricane Katrina, and failed to plan for the economic meltdown in 2008. As Chris Rock said of George Bush, "He ain't the worst president of the united states. He's the worst president of presidents. He's the worst PTA president, president of block association, president of major league baseball, Worldwide Wrestling Federation, the worst president ever."

Listening to Republicans talk about Obama's 'poor planning' is like listening to Paris Hilton lecture women on safe sex.

And this symbolizes the problem with serious political discourse in America. Those on the left have to defend the indefensible because the attacks coming from the right are so absurd that staying quiet could lead to the destruction of vital policies that save lives. The Obamacare website sucks, but health care act is a good thing and the Republicans are political nihilists who will burn the country down to prove a point. So let's have some perspective please.
