Bill Gates' House Is A Lot F**king Bigger Than Your House

While much of the planet lives on less than $2 a day, Bill Gates has a 66,000-square-foot main residence on Lake Washington, Medina, that was recently profiled on Yahoo.com. What kind of economic system creates this type of astronomical disparity between rich and poor and still exists without a major uprising? Explanations are welcome.

While much of the planet lives on less than $2 a day, Bill Gates has a 66,000-square-foot main residence on Lake Washington, Medina, that was recently profiled on Yahoo.com. Worth a cool $120.6 million, some features of the house include:

* A 2,100-square-foot library with secret bookcases

* A pool with a "fossil motif" floor where you can swim under a glass wall to get outside

* Seven bedrooms, 24 bathrooms and six kitchens (incase you want multiple baths a day, and get really, really, really hungry)

* A 20 foot high trampoline room

* Touch-sensitive computer pads control lighting, music, and climate according to the specific person entering the room (guests wear a special identification pin that allows the house to learn about their likes and dislikes).

Gates even helpfully put out a 3D  graphic presentation to explain just big and expensive his house is:

Not to knock Gates, who is one of the most generous rich people on the planet and does an enormous amount of good, but really? 24 bathrooms? Just to put it in perspective, this is what life is like for one family living in the slum of Kamla Nehru Nagar in Bihar, central India:

If someone could explain to me how the hell his happened - what kind of economic system creates this type of astronomical disparity between rich and poor and still exists without a major uprising - I'd love to know.
