Listening Post: The Naked and Famous

They've been compared quite a bit to MGMT, but their pop sensibilities, the addition of a female voice, and the lack of hipster-friendly weirdness make the Naked and Famous quite a bit more endearing and easy to connect to.

The Naked and Famous, out of New Zealand, released one of my favorite albums of 2010: Passive Me, Aggressive You. Their follow up to it, In Rolling Waves, went wide yesterday and it thankfully doesn't deviate much from the formula that made them so refreshing the first time around.

They've been compared quite a bit to MGMT, but the pop sensibilities, the addition of a female voice, and the lack of hipster-friendly weirdness make the Naked and Famous quite a bit more endearing and easy to connect to.
