Listening Post: Sleigh Bells

If you had nothing else in your life to listen to but Sleigh Bells, you'd probably go insane in a matter of hours. But they've staked out a really cool little corner of Brooklyn's indie scene and continue to unleash their fury from there, which is good news for all of us.

Their last album was released only about a year-and-a-half ago, but Sleigh Bells are back with a brand new record. It'll be released in early October, but the first single from it has already arrived and it's basically what we've come to expect from the band: A heavy crunch of guitars, the powerful thump of electronic drum beats, lead singer Alexis Krauss sounding like the cheerleader that got kicked out of school, and the whole thing mastered so loud that it practically blows your eardrums out of your head.
